Projecting an imageBasic OperationENGLISH - 23Projecting an imageConirm the connections of the peripheral devices (AEpage 17, 18) and power cord (AEpage 19). Switch on the power (AEpage 21) and the projector starts projecting. Select the input signal and adjust the image.Selecting the input signal1 ) Switch on the connected devices.When playing a connected DVD player, if SIGNAL SEARCH in the DISPLAY OPTION menu is set to ON, the input signal is detected and projected automatically when the projector is switched on. (AEpage 37)Set the zINPUT GUIDE under the ON-SCREEN DISPLAY in the DISPLAY OPTION menu to DETAILED. If the projector cannot detect any input signal, the Computer connection guidance will display. (AEpage 36)2 ) Select an input signal.The image selected with the INPUT SELECT button is projected. (AEpage 24)NoteChange the setting of the zPICTURE menu according to the connected device and DVD, video tape, etc., to be played. (AEpage 31)Conirm the aspect ratio of the screen and image. zSelect the optimum aspect ratio. (AEpage 33)Positioning the imageWhen setting up the projector for the irst time or setting up at a new place, you must perform the following operations.1 ) Adjust the vertical angle of the projector.Place the projector at the right angle from the screen. zPress the adjuster buttons and adjust the vertical projection angle. Then, adjust the projected image to the zcenter of the screen.Adjust the projection size and focus.2 ) Remove the Zoom-Focus ring cover z(AEpage 12) and turn the zoom and focus rings to adjust the projected image. After adjusting, be sure to install the Zoom-Focus ring cover to protect from dust.Zoom ring (ZOOM)Focus ring (FOCUS)RemarksWhen you adjust the zoom after adjusting the focus, you may need to adjust the focus of the image again. zIf keystone distortion occurs, see “KEYSTONE”. z(AEpage 32)
