AIR CONDITIONING289Switching between outside air andrecirculated air modesEach time you push the air intake controlbutton, the mode changes in order fromthe recirculated air mode to outside airmode, then back to the recirculated airmode. Each indicator light shows whichmode is now selected.1Recirculated air modeIf quick circulation of cooled air is desired,select this mode.2Outside air modeThe system will take fresh outside air intothe vehicle.For normal use, it is the best to keep the airintake control button set to outside airmode. If recirculated air is used duringheating, the windows will fog up more easi-ly.(d) Defogging the windshieldThe air conditioning system operates auto-matically.Recirculated air mode will automaticallyswitch to outside air mode. It is not pos-sible to return to recirculated air modewhen the switch is on.CAUTIONTo prevent the windshield from fog-ging up, do not use the windshield airflow button during cool air operationin extremely humid weather . The dif-ference between the temperature ofthe outside air and that of the wind-shield can cause the outer surface ofthe windshield to fog up, blockingyour vision.
