Press the clutch pedal fully to change gears correctly. Itis therefore essential that there is nothing under thepedals: make sure the mats are lying flat and do notget in the way of the pedals.Do not drive with your hand resting on the gear lever asthe force exerted, even if slight, could lead over time topremature wear of the gearbox internal components.SAVING FUEL Here are some suggestions which can help you to save fuel and lowerharmful emissions.GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS Car maintenanceHave checks and adjustments carried out in accordance with the“Scheduled Servicing Plan” (see chapter “Maintenance and care”).TyresCheck the tyre pressure at least once every 4 weeks: if the pressure istoo low, consumption levels increase as resistance to rolling is higher.Unnecessary loadsDo not travel with an overloaded boot. The weight of the car and itsarrangement greatly affect fuel consumption and stability.Roof rack/ski rackRemove the roof rack or the ski rack from the roof after use. Theseaccessories lower aerodynamic penetration and adversely affectconsumption levels. It is better to use a trailer to transport particularlybulky objects.Electrical devicesOnly use electrical devices for the time needed.
