WARNING!Improper towing can lead to an injury collision.Follow these guidelines to make your trailer towingas safe as possible:•Make certain that the load is secured in the trailerand it will not shift during travel. When traileringcargo that is not fully secured, dynamic load shiftscan occur that may be difficult for the driver tocontrol. You could lose control of your vehicle andhave a collision.•When hauling cargo or towing a trailer, do notoverload your vehicle or trailer. Overloading cancause a loss of control, poor performance, or dam-age to brakes, axle, engine, transmission, steering,suspension, chassis structure, or tires.(Continued)WARNING!(Continued)•Safety chains must always be used between yourvehicle and trailer. Always connect the chains tothe frame or hook retainers of the vehicle hitch.Cross the chains under the trailer tongue and allowenough slack for turning corners.•Vehicles with trailers should not be parked on agrade. When parking, apply the parking brake onthe tow vehicle. Put the tow vehicle automatictransmission in PARK.
