30Understanding BrightnessIf the image is normal in brightness with no extremely bright or dark portions, the graph peaks in the middle. If the image is underexposed, the peak is on the left side, and if it is overexposed, the peak is on the right side. When the image is underexposed, the part to the left is cut off (dark portions) and when the image is overexposed, the part to the right is cut off (bright portions). This camera can warn for bright portions by red flashing in shooting and in playback.Understanding Color BalanceDistribution of color intensity is displayed for each color in RGB histogram display. If a color is partially cut off on one side, it indicates that the color is under- or overexposed, that the light is very weak or strong in that color, or that the white balance is incorrect. To Adjust the Exposure 1p.95Compensating for Brightness (D-Range Setting) 1p.104Setting the Display in Capture Mode (LCD View Options) 1p.188Setting the Instant Review 1p.109Setting the White Balance 1p.100Dark image Image with few bright or dark areasBright image
