Your serial number can be found on your rating plate which is behind the clear binTM.Most queries can be solved over the phone by one of our trained Dyson Customer Care Helpline staff.Alternatively visit www.dyson.co.uk/support for online help, general tips and useful information about Dyson.IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONSREAD ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANERWhen using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:WARNINGTO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY:This vacuum cleaner is for domestic use only. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.1. Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.2. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.3. Do not use with damaged cable or plug. If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by Dyson’s authorised service 4. centres in order to avoid a hazard.If the vacuum cleaner is not functioning properly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or immersed in liquid, do not use, 5. contact the Dyson Customer Care Helpline. Do not use the vacuum cleaner if any parts appear to be faulty, missing or damaged.6. Ensure all parts including the clear bin7. TM are securely attached before using or carrying the vacuum cleaner.This vacuum cleaner is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, 8. or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the vacuum cleaner by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the vacuum cleaner.Do not leave vacuum cleaner when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use, and before performing user maintenance, 9. connecting or disconnecting the hose or changing accessories. Store the vacuum cleaner indoors. Do not use or store this vacuum cleaner below 0ºC (32ºF). Ensure that the vacuum cleaner is 10. at room temperature before operating. Put the vacuum cleaner away after use with the cable stored safely, to prevent tripping hazards.If the vacuum cleaner overheats it will cut-out. It must be switched off, unplugged and allowed to cool down before attempting 11. to check filters or for blockages.Turn off all controls before unplugging.12. Do not unplug by pulling on cable. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cable.13. Do not pull or carry by cable, use cable as a handle, close a door on cable, or pull cable around sharp edges or corners. Do not 14. run vacuum cleaner over cable. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.The use of an extension cable is not recommended.15. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts, such as the brushbar.16. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may 17. reduce airflow.Take extra care when vacuuming on stairs. Do not work with the vacuum cleaner above you on the stairs. 18. Keep the vacuum cleaner on the floor. Do not put the vacuum cleaner on chairs, tables etc.19. Do not shake the vacuum cleaner or press the cyclone release button while carrying the vacuum cleaner, or it could fall and 20. cause injury.Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.21. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.22. Check to ensure your electricity supply matches that shown on the rating plate. The vacuum cleaner must only be used as rated.23. Use only as described in this manual. Use only Dyson recommended attachments.24. Do not use without clear bin25.
