Thi s model phone is designed and manu factured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy as set by the FCC of the U.S. Government and IC of the Canadian Governmen t. These limits are part of com prehensive guidelines and establish permitted levels of RF energy f or the general population. The guidelines are based on standar ds that were developed by independent scientific organizations through periodic and thoro ugh evaluation of scientific studies. The exposure standard for wireless mobile phones employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). The SA R limit set by the FCC and IC is 1.6 W/kg. Tests for SAR are cond ucted using standard operating positi ons as accepted by the FCC and I C with the phone transmitting at its highest certified power leve l in all tested frequency bands. Although t he SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the phon e while operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the phone is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required to reach the network. In general, the c loser you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power out put level of the phone. Before a phone model is available for sale to the public, it mu st be tested and certified to prove to the FCC and IC that it does no t exceed the limit established by the U.S. and Canadian government-adopt ed requirement for safe exposure. T he tests are performed on posit ion and locations (for example, at t he ear and worn on the body) as required by FCC and IC for each model. The highest SAR value fo r this model phone as reported to the FC C and IC, when tested for use at the ear, is 0.595W/kg, and when wo rn on the body, is 0.588W/kg. (Body-worn measurements differ among phone models, depending upon available accessories and FCC and IC requirements). While there may be differences between the SAR levels of variou s phones and at various positions, they all meet the U.S. and Can adian government requirements. The FCC and IC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this model phone with all reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance w ith the FCC and IC RF exposure guidelines. SAR information on this model phone is on file with the FCC and can be found under the Equipm ent Authorization Search section at h ttp:// www.fcc.gov/oet/ (pleas e search on FCC ID VQK-F-04A).For body worn operation, thi s phone has been tested and meets t he FCC and IC RF exposure guidelines when used with an accessory designated for this product or when used with an accessory that contains no metal and which posi tions the handset at a minimum distance of 1.5 cm from the body.
