Replacing the Hard-Drive Assembly | 25Replacing the Hard-Drive Assembly WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer and follow the steps in "Before You Begin" on page 7. After working inside your comput er, follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on page 9. For additional safety best practices information, see the Regulato ry Compliance Homepage at dell.com/regulatory_compliance. CAUTION: Hard drives are extremely frag ile. Exercise care when handling the hard drive.Procedure1Align the screw holes on the hard-dri ve bracket with the screw holes on the hard drive.2Replace the screws that secure the ha rd-drive bracket to the hard drive.3Slide and place the hard-drive assembly in the hard-drive bay.4Slide the hard-drive assembly backward to connect the hard-drive assembly to the system board.5Replace the screws that secure the hard-drive assembly to the computer base.Postrequisites1Follow the instructions from step 3 to step 4 in "Replacing the Memory Module(s)" on page 17.2Replace the battery.
