Safety PrecautionsElectromagnetic SafetyFor body-worn operation, this mobile phonehas been tested and meets RF exposureguidelines when used with an accessorycontaining no metal and positioning thehandset a minimum 15 mm from the body. Useof other accessories may not ensurecompliance with RF exposure guidelines.CE Declaration of ConformityHereby, Sharp Telecommunications of Europe Ltd, declaresthat 202SH is in compliance with the essential requirementsand other relevant provisions of Directive 1999/5/EC.A copy of the original declaration of conformity for eachmodel can be found at the following Internet address:http://www.sharp.co.jp/k-tai/Battery CautionsUse specified Battery or Charger only.Non-specified equipment use may causemalfunctions, electric shock or fire due tobattery leakage, overheating or bursting.Do not dispose of an exhausted Battery withordinary refuse; always tape over Batteryterminals before disposal. Take Battery to aSoftBank Shop, or follow the local disposalregulations.Charge Battery in ambient temperature 5oC 35oC; Battery may leak/overheat andperformance may deteriorate outside thisrange.European RF Exposure InformationYour mobile device is a radio transmitter andreceiver. It is designed not to exceed the limitsfor exposure to radio waves recommended byinternational guidelines. These guidelines weredeveloped by the independent scientificorganization ICNIRP and include safety marginsdesigned to assure the protection of allpersons, regardless of age and health. The guidelines use a unit of measurementknown as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR.The SAR limit for mobile devices is 2.0 W/kgand the highest SAR value for this device whentested at the ear was 0.586 W/kg*. As mobiledevices offer a range of functions, they can beused in other positions, such as on the body asdescribed in this User Guide**. In this case, thehighest tested SAR value is 0.835 W/kg***.As SAR is measured utilizing the device'shighest transmitting power the actual SAR ofthis device while operating is typically belowthat indicated above. This is due to automaticchanges to the power level of the device toensure it only uses the minimum level requiredto reach the network. The World Health Organization has stated thatpresent scientific information does not indicatethe need for any special precautions for the useof mobile devices. They note that if you wantto reduce your exposure then you can do so bylimiting the length of calls or using a handsfree device to keep the mobile phone awayfrom the head and body.***A method of measuring SAR when a mobilephone is used at positions other than at the ear wasestablished in March 2010 through an internationalstandard (IEC62209-2). MIC technical regulationwas reported in October 2011 by the Informationand Communications Council.World Health Organizationhttp://www.who.int/emfList of Specific Absorption Rates (SAR) for radiowaves by 3G modelhttp://mb.softbank.jp/mb/support/sar/(Japanese)Headphone Signal LevelThe maximum output voltage for the musicplayer function, measured in accordance withEN 50332-2, is 24.0 mV.FCC Notice. This device complies with part 15 of the FCCRules. Operation is subject to the followingtwo conditions:(1) This device may not cause harmfulinterference, and (2) this device must acceptany interference received, includinginterference that may cause undesiredoperation.. Changes or modifications not expresslyapproved by the manufacturer responsible forcompliance could void the user's authority tooperate the equipment.*The tests are carried out in accordance withinternational guidelines for testing.**Please see "Electromagnetic Safety" on the leftfor important notes regarding body-worn operation.xxix
