質問者が納得最大の売りはOffice2013です。これを使い倒しましょう。
それに加え、パソコンと同じインターネットエクスプローラが使えるので、調べたり引用しながらドキュメントを作るのに最適です。
あと、iPhoneと連携しての写真管理やTodo管理、アイデアメモなども便利ですね。
別に風呂でYouTubeや映画を見ていてもいいとは思いますが。

質問者が納得RTはアプリが圧倒的に少ないですよ。
糞なのはこの一点によるもの。
けどこの一点がもう致命傷でして(^_^;)
デジタルガジェットは「長いものには巻かれておけ」が基本です。
ユーザーが多ければトラブルの解決策がGoogle検索ですぐ出るようになりますし、
商売になるので様々なメーカーが参入してきて専用アクセサリもアプリも豊富になります。
MS公式のOfficeが使えるので徐々にユーザーは増え、いずれはアプリもアクセサリも豊富になるでしょう。
ですが今はまだその時ではありません。

質問者が納得低予算でMicrosoft Officeが使えるマシンをお探しであれば、3万円台で購入できるSurface RTは大変良い選択肢だと思います。
ただ、Surface RTに搭載されているOfficeは、マクロ・アドインなど一部の機能が動作しない特別バージョンなので、エクセルでマクロを使いたい場合等は向いていませんのでご注意を。それ以外の互換性は完全です。
USBメモリやマイクロSDも普通に使える（エクスプローラでコピーできる）ので、そのあたりの使い勝手はノートパソコンと同じです。

質問者が納得SurfaceRTじゃなくて、普通にWindows8搭載のタブレットを選べば良いだけでは？
価格帯で言えば、４～５万円台より、CUPや、液晶のサイズの違いなどにより、１０万円超の物まで色々あります。
はじめからOffice搭載モデルを選べば間違いないでしょう。

質問者が納得surfaceRT。購入しましたが、iPadやNEXUSのが良いです。
あれはWindows8が入っているのではなく、WindowsRTというOSが入っており、普通のWindowsで動作できる.exeのアプリケーションは動作しません！使い物になりませんよ。
ディスプレイも普通の安いディスプレイですし、iPadに比べたら画面は粗いです。
ただ、Officeソフトが制限付きでついてきます。しかし、あの価格でしたら普通のノートパソコンを購入したほうが良いですね。
因みにネットはwifi以外繋ぐ方法はないで...

質問者が納得主目的で考えるなら、RTでOKな気がしますが、Office2003以前を使っている場合はデータの互換性はありますが、見た目ががらりと変わるのでRT専用版のOffice2013へ移行する為のハードルが高くなるので厳しいと思います。
RTは基本的にPC用(Intel AMD)のソフトはCPUの仕様が異なる為使えません。その為公式ストアのRT専用版だけが使えます。
