Operating the lights and windshield wipersGS_G_U (OM30C11U)June 30, 2011 8:14 am■The windshield wiper and washer can be operated whenThe "ENGINE START STOP" switch is in IGNITION ON mode.■Dripping prevention wiper sweepAfter washing and wiping operation several times, the wipers operate one moretime after a short delay to prevent dripping.However, the last sweep will not happen if the vehicle is traveling above 106 mph(170 km/h).■Effects of vehicle speed on wiper operationVehicle speed affects the following even when the wipers are not "AUTO" mode.●Intermittent wiper interval ( mode)●Wiper operation when the washer is being used (delay until drip preventionwiper sweep occurs)With selected, wiper operation will be switched from low speed to intermit-tent wiper operation only when the vehicle is stationary.■Rain drop sensor (vehicles equipped with rain-sensing windshield wipers)●If the wiper switch is turned to the "AUTO" position while the "ENGINE STARTSTOP" switch is in IGNITION ON mode, the wipers will operate once to showthat "AUTO" mode is activated.●If the temperature of the raindrop sensor is 167F (75C) or higher, or 14F(-10C) or lower, automatic operation may not occur. In this case, operate thewipers in any mode other than "AUTO".●The raindrop sensor judges the amount ofraindrops. An optical sensor is adopted. It may notoperate properly when sunlight from therising or setting of the sun intermittentlystrikes the windshield, or if bugs etc. arepresent on the windshield.
