CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide. CAUTION: Do not touch the metal housing of the hard drive if you remove the hard drive from the computer while the drive is hot.NOTICE: To prevent data loss, turn off your computer before removing the hard drive. Do not remove the hard drive while the computer is on or inSleep state.NOTICE: Hard drives are extremely fragile. Exercise care when handling the hard drive. Removing the Hard Drive1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.2. Turn the computer over and remove the two hard drive screws.1screws (2)2hard driveNOTICE: When the hard drive is not in the computer, store it in protective antistatic packaging (see "Protecting Against Electrostatic Discharge" in theProduct Information Guide).3. Slide the hard drive out of the computer.4. Remove the two screws (one from each side of the hard drive cover), then pull to separate the cover from the hard drive.
