質問者が納得このサイズのアスペクト比16:9（解像度1920x1080）フルHDワイドであれば、「BenQ」「LG」等が定番でしょうか。
コントラスト比（1000:1）、輝度（300cd/m2）、応答速度（5ms）等、画面仕様に差はありません。
端子も「HDMI」「DVI」「D-sub」揃っていますし、「HDCP」（地デジに必要）もあります。
違いは「スピーカ」有り無し位でしょうか。
「G2411HD」「スピーカ」無し。
「E2400HD」「スピーカ」有り。
（良い意味で）どちらでも可ではないでしょうか。

質問者が納得G2411HD>D-subケーブル>GeForce 9800GT
で接続すればOKだと思います。
別途何かを購入する必要はありません。
ちなみに
HDMIケーブルを別途購入すれば付属の変換アダプタでも接続出来ます。

質問者が納得DVI-IとDVI-Dには互換性があるようです。
DVI-IコネクタにDVI-Dケーブルを接続することは可能なので
おそらく使えると思います。
※DVI-DコネクタにDVI-Iケーブルは接続できないようです。

質問者が納得間違いがあるかもしれませんが
G2411HD
↑このシリーズは先発のE2400HDの安価版と認識しています。
店頭で見比べていただければ判りますが、E2400HDと比較すると全体としてチャチな印象。
中身も共通したパーツだと思いますが、大きな違いはスピーカーが搭載されていないこと。
(ただ、E2400HDのスピーカーも良質とは言い難く、音も狭くあまりクリアではありません)
ですので、G2411HDの場合は別途スピーカーを接続する必要があります。
最近見かけた限り、G2411HDの価格的な優位は小さくなっ...

質問者が納得だいたい認識はあってますよ。
外部ディスプレイのみとは、外部のモニターだけに映してNOTEPCの画面は映らない（真っ暗）ってことですね。
同時表示 1280×768は外部モニターもNOTEPCの画面も両方映した場合には、1280×768しか表示できませんよです。
＞もしそうであればディスプレイが大きい分ぼやけて(というか粗く)表示されるということですよね?
＞宝の持ち腐れといったような状況でしょうか?
このPCとBenQのモニターの場合は、そういうことになりますね。
