Steps to take in an emergencyWarning message Details Correction procedure(Flashing)(If equipped)Your vehicle is nearing the vehicle ahead (in radar cruise mode).Slow the vehicle by apply-ing the brakes.(Flashing)The transmission is out of "P" when attempting to start the engine.Shift the shift lever to "P" before pressing the engine switch.nAfter changing the engine oil (U.S.A. only)Make sure to reset the oil maintenance data. ( → P. 382)nApproach warning messageIn the following instances, there is the possibility that the approach warning will not activate even when the vehicle-to-vehicle distance decreases.lWhen your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same speed or the vehicle ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle.lWhen the vehicle ahead is traveling at a very low speed.lImmediately after cruise control speed is set.lAt the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed.
