You canflash the high beams with the head-lights on or off.■Daytime running light system●Vehicles with halogen headlights: to make your vehicle more visible to otherdrivers, the headlights turn on automa tically (at a reduced intensity) wheneverthe engine is started and the parking brake is released. Daytime running lightsare not designed for use at night.Vehicles with discharge headlights: to make your vehicle more visible to otherdrivers, the parking lights turn on auto matically (at a increased intensity) when-ever the engine is started and the pa rking brake is released. Daytime runninglights are not designed for use at night.●Compared to turning on the headlights, the daytime running light system offersgreater durability and consumes less electricity, so it can help improve fueleconomy.■Headlight control sensorThe sensor may not function properly if anobject is placed on the sensor, or anythingthat blocks the sensor is affixed to the wind-shield. Doing so interferes with the sensor detectingthe level of ambient light and may cause theautomatic headlight system to malfunction.
