3673-7. Other interior features3Interior featuresCalibrating the compassThe direction display deviates from the true direction determined by theearth's magnetic field. The amount of deviation varies according to thegeographic position of the vehicle.If you cross over a map boundary shown in illustration, the compass will devi-ate.To obtain higher precision or perfec t calibration, refer to the following.■Deviation calibrationStop the vehicle.Press the switch until a number (1to 15) appears on the compass dis-play.Press the switch, and referring to the map above, select the num-ber of the zone where you are.If the direction is displayed severa l seconds after adjustment, the cali-bration is complete.STEP 1STEP 2STEP 3
