Using other driving systems2When drivingnHill-start assist control is operational whenlThe shift lever is in the D or S position.lThe brake pedal is not depressed.lThe vehicle rolls backward.nEPS operation soundWhen the steering wheel operates, a motor sound (whirring sound) may be heard.This does not indicate a malfunction.nReduced effectiveness of EPSThe effectiveness of EPS is reduced to prevent the system from overheating whenthere is frequent steering input over an extended period of time. The steering wheelmay feel heavy as a result. Should this occur, refrain from excessive steering input orstop the vehicle and turn the engine OFF. Th e system should return to normal within10 minutes.nIf the slip indicator comes onIt may indicate a malfunction in the VSC, TR AC or hill start assist control function.Contact your Lexus dealer.CAUTIONnThe ABS does not operate effectively whenlThe limits of tire gripping performance have been exceeded.lThe vehicle hydroplanes while driving at high speed on the wet or slick road.nStopping distance when the ABS is operating will exceed that of normal condi-tionsThe ABS is not designed to shorten the ve hicle's stopping distance. Always main-tain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you in the following situations.lWhen driving on dirt, gravel or snow-covered roadslWhen driving with tire chainslWhen driving over bumps in the roadlWhen driving over roads with potholes or roads with uneven surfaces
