Key informationlThe card key is not waterproof.nWhen required to leave a key to th e vehicle with a parking attendantTurn the trunk opener main switch off and lock the glove box as circumstancesdemand. (→P. 43, 251)Remove the mechanical key for your own use and provide the attendant with theelectronic key only. nKey number plateKeep the plate in a safe place such as your wallet, not in the vehicle. In the event thata mechanical key is lost, a new key can be made at your Lexus dealer using the keynumber plate. (→P. 416)NOTICEnTo prevent key damageObserve the following.lDo not drop the keys, subject them to strong shocks or bend them.lDo not expose the keys to high temperatures for a long period of time.lDo not get the keys wet or wash them in an ultrasonic washer etc.lDo not attach metallic or magnetic materials to the keys or place the keys close tosuch materials.lDo not disassemble the electronic keys.lDo not place the keys near objects that produce magnetic fields, such as TVs,audio systems, glass top ranges, or medical electrical equipment, such as low-fre-quency therapy equipment.lIf the battery cover is not installed andthe battery falls out or if the battery wasremoved because the key got wet, rein-stall the battery with the positive termi-nal facing the Lexus emblem.
