Transporting children safely36LATCH child-restraint systemLATCH: Lower Anchor and Tethers for CHil-dren.For attachment and use of LATCH child-restraint system, follow the operating and safety instructions of the system manufac-turer.<Before attaching the child 's seat, pull the belt out of the vicinity of th e child's seat attachment points.Make sure that the LATCH anchors have correctly engaged and the child restraint device is resting snugly against the backrest. <Rear seatsThe anchorage points for the LATCH mounts are located behind th e cover caps. Before installing the child's se at, pull the cover caps out toward the front.Child restraint device with tether strapThe top tether strap attachment points are only intended for attachment of child restraint device; other uses can damage the attachment points. <For child restraint device s with tether straps, there are three addition al attachment points, refer to arrows, under cove rs in the floor of the cargo area.
