- 16 -Parts and Accessories: Status LEDStatus LEDThe scanner's status is shown by the LED on the front panel.When the status LED is on and glowing steadily (READY):the power is on but no operation is being performed.Adapters can be exchanged and film inserted. If the com-puter to which the scanner is connected is off, the scannercan be turned off.When the status LED blinks slowly (BUSY):scanning is in progress or the scanner is initializing afterhaving been turned on. Do not turn the scanner off, removeor insert adapters, or eject or insert film.When the status LED flashes rapidly (ERROR):a communications error has occurred or there is a problemwith the scanner. If this condition persists, close all applica-tions and turn off the computer, then turn off the scanner.Wait at least five seconds before turning the scanner onagain and restarting the computer.Status LEDNote: The LED may sometimes blink erratically, but this doesnot indicate a malfunction.4 Caution: Do not insert or remove adapters while the LED isblinking, as this could cause the scanner to malfunction.
