Adjustable components (seats, mirrors, steering wheel)1Before drivingGS_G_U (OM30C11U)June 30, 2011 8:14 amSeat belt pretensioners (front and outboard rear seats)The pretensioner helps the seatbelt to quickly restrain the occu-pant by retracting the seat beltwhen the vehicle is subjected tocertain types of severe frontal colli-sion.The pretensioner may not activatein the event of a minor frontalimpact, a side impact or a rearimpact.Pre-collision seat belts (front seats of vehicles with pre-collision system)If the pre-collision sensor detects that a collision is unavoidable, the pre-collision system will retract the seat belt, thus enhancing the effectivenessof the seat belt pretensioner in a crash.The same will happen if the driver makes an emergency braking or loses con-trol of the vehicle.
