It may also lock ifyou lean forward too quickly. A slow, easy motion will allow the belt to extend, andyou can move around fully. Also, when retr acting, if the belt is locked, pulling onceon the belt strongly will loosen the belt and allow you to move, and the belt can thenbe pulled out. ■Automatic locking retractor (ALR)When a passenger's shoulder belt is completely extended and then retracted evenslightly, the belt is locked in that position and cannot be extended. This feature isused to hold the child restraint system (CRS) firmly. To free the belt again, fullyretract the belt and then pull the belt out once more.
