5When trouble arises4175-2. Steps to take in an emergencyIf the electronic key does not operate properlyLocking and unlocking the doors, unlocking the trunk and key linked functionsDoorsRemove the cover on the driver'sdoor handle using the mechanicalkey (→P. 21) in order to performthe following operations. Locks all doorsCloses the windows/moon roof(turn and hold)Unlocks the doorTurning the key rearward unlocksthe driver's door. Turning the keyonce again unlocks the otherdoors.Opens the windows/moon roof(turn and hold)Return the cover to the originalposition after use. If communication between the electron ic key and vehicle is interrupted(→P. 28) or the electronic key cannot be used because the battery isdepleted, the smart access system with push-button start and wirelessremote control cannot be used. In su ch cases, the doors and trunk can beopened or the engine can be started by following the procedure below.
