5When trouble arises4195-2. Steps to take in an emergencyTo change "ENGINE START STOP" switch modes: Within 10seconds of the buzzer sounding , release the brake pedal andpress the "ENGINE START STOP" switch. Modes can bechanged each time the switch is pressed. (→P. 126)To start the engine: Press the "ENGINE START STOP" switchwithin 10 seconds after the buzz er sounds, keeping the brakepedal depressed.Manual transmissionShift the shift lever to N and depress the clutch pedal.Touch the Lexus emblem side ofthe electronic key to the"ENGINE START STOP" switch.An alarm will sound to indicate thatthe start function cannot detect theelectronic key that is touched tothe "ENGINE START STOP"switch if any of the doors is openedand closed while the key is touchedto the switch.STEP 3STEP 1STEP 2
