1152-1. Driving procedures2When drivingCAUTIONlThe brake system consists of 2 individual hydraulic systems: if one of the systemsfails, the other will still operate. In this case, the brake pedal should be depressedmore firmly than usual and braking distance becomes longer.Do not drive your vehicle with only a single brake system. Have your brakes fixedimmediately. nIf the vehicle becomes stuc k or bogged (AWD models)Do not spin the wheels recklessly when any of the tires is up in the air, or stuck insand or mud, etc. This may damage the drive system components or propel thevehicle forward (or in another direction) and cause an accident.NOTICEnWhen driving the vehiclelWith manual transmission vehicles, do not rest your foot on the clutch pedal whiledriving.Doing so may cause clutch trouble.lWith manual transmission vehicles, do no t use any gears other than the first gearwhen starting off and moving forward.Doing so may damage the clutch.lWith automatic transmission vehicles, do not use the accelerator pedal ordepress accelerator and brake pedals together to hold the vehicle on a hill.lWith manual transmission vehicles, do no t use the clutch to hold the vehicle whenstopping on an uphill grade.nWhen parking the vehicleWith automatic transmission vehicles, always put the shift lever in P. Failure to do somay cause the vehicle to move or the vehicle may accelerate suddenly if the accel-erator pedal is accidentally depressed.nAvoiding damage to vehicle partslDo not turn the steering wheel fully in either direction and hold it there for a longtime. Doing so may damage the power steering motor.lWhen driving over bumps in the road, drive as slowly as possible to avoid damag-ing the wheels, underside of the vehicle, etc.
