Safety informationCT200h_U (OM76040U)CAUTION■SRS airbag precautions●The SRS front passenger airbag also depl oys with considerable force, and cancause death or serious injury especially if the front passenger is very close to theairbag. The front passenger seat should be as far from the airbag as possible withthe seatback adjusted, so the front passenger sits upright.●Improperly seated and/or restrained infants and children can be killed or seri-ously injured by a deploying airbag. An infant or child who is too small to use aseat belt should be properly secured using a child restraint system. Lexus stronglyrecommends that all infants and children be placed in the rear seats of the vehicleand properly restrained. The rear seats ar e safer for infants and children than thefront passenger seat. (→P. 143)●If the seat belt extender has been con-nected to the driver's seat belt buckle butthe seat belt extender has not also beenfastened to the latch plate of the driver'sseat belt, the SRS front airbags for thedriver will judge that the driver is wearingthe seat belt even though the seat belt hasnot been connected. In this case, the SRSfront airbags for the driver may not activatecorrectly in a collision, resulting in death orserious injury in the event of a collision. Besure to wear the seat belt with the seat beltextender.
