Steps to take in an emergencyGS350_U (OM30C34U)7When trouble arisesNOTICE■To prevent causing serious damage to the transmission and transfer (AWD mod-els) when towing using a wheel-lift type truck2WD models: Never tow this vehicle from the front with the rear wheels on the ground.AWD models: Never tow this vehicle with any of th e wheels in contact with the ground.■To prevent damage to the vehicle when towing using a wheel-lift type truck2WD models:●Do not tow the vehicle from the rear with the engine switch off. The steering lockmechanism is not strong enough to hold the front wheels straight.●When raising the vehicle from the rear, ensure adequate ground clearance fortowing at the opposite end of the raised vehicle. Without adequate clearance, thevehicle could be damaged whil e being towed from the rear.AWD models: When raising the vehicle, ensure adequate ground clearance for towing at theopposite end of the raised vehicle. Without adequate clearance, the vehicle couldbe damaged while being towed.■To prevent body damage when to wing with a sling-type truckDo not tow with a sling-type truck, either from the front or rear.■To prevent causing serious damage to the transmission and transfer (AWD mod-els) in emergency towingNever tow a vehicle from the rear with fo ur wheels on the ground. This may causeserious damage to the transmission and transfer.
