Using other driving systemsGS_G_U (OM30C11U)June 30, 2011 8:14 am■Smear effect■Flicker effectWhen the camera is used under fluorescent lights, sodium lights, or mercury lightsetc., the lights and the illuminated areas may appear to flicker.CAUTION■When using the rear view monitor systemObserve the following precautions to avoid an accident that could result in death orserious injuries.●Never depend solely on the monitor system when reversing.●Always check visually and with the mirrors to confirm your intended path is clear.●Depicted distances between objects and flat surfaces differ from actual dis-tances.●Do not use the system if the trunk is open.If a bright light (for example, sunlightreflected off the vehicle body) is picked up bythe camera, a smear effect* peculiar to thecamera may occur.*:Smear effect - A phenomenon that occurswhen a bright light (for example, sunlightreflected off the vehicle body) is picked upby the camera; when transmitted by thecamera, the light source appears to have avertical streak above and below it.
