02 Locks and alarmLocking/unlocking 0262* Option/accessory, for more information, see Introduction.WARNINGDo not allow anyone to remain in the carwithout first deactivating the deadlocks inorder to avoid the risk of anyone beinglocked in.Temporary deactivationActive menu options are indicated with a cross.MY CAROK MENUTUNE knob controlEXITIf someone is going to stay in the car but thedoors must be locked from the outside, thenthe deadlocks function can be temporarilyswitched off. This is carried out as follows:1.Access the menu system MY CAR underSettingsCar settings ReducedGuard (for a detailed description of themenu system, see page 204).2.Select Activate once .> The instrument panel display shows themessage Reduced guard Seemanual and the deadlocks function isswitched off when the car is locked.or–Select Ask when exiting .> Each time the engine is switched off thecentre console display screen showsthe message Activate Reduced Guarduntil engine has started again? fol-lowed by the alternatives Confirm withOK and Cancel with EXIT .If the deadlocks function shall be switchedoff–Press OK/MENU and lock the car. (Notethat the alarm's movement and tilt detec-tors* are switched off at the same time, seepage 65.)> The next time the engine is started, thesystem is reset to zero and the instru-ment panel display shows the messageFull guard at which the deadlocksfunction and the alarm's movement andtilt detectors are re-engaged.If the locking system shall not be changed–Press EXIT and lock the car.NOTE•Remember that the alarm is activatedwhen the car is locked.•If any of the doors are opened from theinside then the alarm is triggered.
