Unscheduled MaintenanceOnly use fuels advertised to have adequatedetergency and low alcohol content. Use offuels with insufficient detergent and/or excessalcohol can cause driveability problems thatnecessitate cleaning intake valves and fuelinjection valves, and, when applicable,adjusting the engine idle. We suggest havingthis work performed by your authorized BMWcenter, perhaps while regular maintenance isperformed. Your BMW center can also recom-mend a gasoline additive that will providesufficient detergency. While this recommendedunscheduled maintenance is not required inorder to maintain the emission warranty,cleaning of intake valves or, when applicable,fuel injection valves, or adjustment of engineidle, necessitated by use of inappropriate fuel,is not covered by warranty because no defectin material or workmanship or componentfailure is involved.Special NoteMaintenance items and schedules statedherein reflect the combined recommendationsfor all model 2005 BMW Z4, and are subject tochange. The most current maintenancerecommendations are available from yourauthorized BMW center.Quality Certification IFor a detailed list of items inspected, refer tothe Quality Certification I form provided tothe Owner at time of delivery.
