5-66. Connect the red positive (+) cable to thepositive (+) terminal ofthe dead battery. Use aremote positive (+)terminal if the vehiclehas one.7. Don't let the other endtouch metal. Connect itto the positive (+)terminal of the goodbattery. Use a remotepositive (+) terminal ifthe vehicle has one.8. Now connect the blacknegative (-) cable to thenegative (-) terminal ofthe good battery. Use aremote negative (-)terminal if the vehiclehas one.Don't let the other end touch anything until the next step. The other end of the negative (-) cabledoesn't go to the dead battery. It goes to a heavy, unpainted metal engine part or to the remotenegative (-) terminal on the vehicle with the deadbattery. The remote negative (-) terminal on yourvehicle is located on the front engine lift bracket andis marked "GND."
