5-274. Place the jack in the appropriate position nearest theflat tire.CAUTION:Getting under a vehicle when it is jacked up isdangerous. If the vehicle slips off the jack, youcould be badly injured or killed. Never get undera vehicle when it is supported only by a jack.CAUTION:Raising your vehicle with the jack improperlypositioned can damage the vehicle and even makethe vehicle fall. To help avoid personal injury andvehicle damage, be sure to fit the jack lift head intothe proper location before raising the vehicle.5. Raise the vehicle by turning the jack handle clockwise. Raise the vehicle far enough off the ground so there isenough room for the spare tire to fit.6. Remove all the wheel nuts and take off the flat tire.
