2-30Parking BrakeTo set the parking brake, hold the regular brake pedaldown with your right foot and pull up on the parkingbrake lever. If the ignition is on, the brake systemwarning light will come on.To release the parking brake, hold the regular brakepedal down. Pull the parking brake lever up until youcan press in the button at the end of the lever. Hold thebutton in as you move the parking brake lever all theway down.NOTICE:Driving with the parking brake on can causeyour parking brakes to overheat. You may haveto replace them, and you could also damage otherparts of your vehicle.If you are towing a trailer and you must park on a hill,see "Towing a Trailer" in the Index. That section showswhat to do first to keep the trailer from moving.
