6-17After changing the engine air cleaner/filter, press thebutton on top of the indicator to reset it.See "Owner Checks and Services" in the Index todetermine when to check the indicator.To replace the engine air cleaner/filter, do the following:1. Remove the three screws on the engine aircleaner/filter and lift off the cover.2. Twist out the old engine air cleaner/filter and replaceit with a new one.3. Reinstall the cover.CAUTION:Operating the engine with the air cleaner/filteroff can cause you or others to be burned. The aircleaner not only cleans the air, it stops flame ifthe engine backfires. If it isn't there, and theengine backfires, you could be burned. Don'tdrive with it off, and be careful working on theengine with the air cleaner/filter off.NOTICE:If the air cleaner/filter is off, a backfire can cause a damaging engine fire. And, dirt can easily get into your engine, which will damage it.Always have the air cleaner/filter in place whenyou're driving.
