03 Your driving environmentDRIVe Start/Stop* 03130* Option/accessory, for more information, see Introduction.ConditionsM/AAThere is a temporarily high cur-rent take-off or battery capacitydrops below the lowest permissi-ble level.M + ARepeated pumping of the brakepedal.M + AThe car starts to roll - faster thanthe equivalent normal walkingpace.MThe driver's belt lock is openedwith the gear selector in D or Nposition.ASteering wheel movements. AThe gear selector is moved fromthe D position to "+/-" or R.AThe driver's door is opened withthe gear selector in D position - a"ping" sound and text messageinform that the Start/Stop func-tion is active.AAM = Manual gearbox, A = Automatic gearbox.WARNINGDo not open the bonnet when the enginehas stopped automatically - the engine maysuddenly start automatically. First switch offthe engine as normal using the START/STOP ENGINE button before opening thebonnet.The engine does not auto-startIn the following cases the engine does notauto-start after having auto-stopped:ConditionsM/AAA gear is engaged withoutdeclutching - a display textprompts the driver to set the gearlever in neutral position in order toenable automatic starting.MThe driver is unrestrained, thegear selector is in P position andthe driver’s door is open - a nor-mal engine start must take place.AThe gear selector is moved to Pposition - press the START/STOP ENGINE button to restartthe engine.If the driver's door is openedbefore starting the engine withthe START/STOP ENGINE but-ton, the Start/Stop function isswitched off.AAM = Manual gearbox, A = Automatic gearbox.Involuntary engine stop with manualgearboxIn the event that a start-up fails and the enginestops, proceed as follows:
