Reduced protective function▷Do not use seat or head restraint cov‐ers.▷Do not hang objects, e.g., clothes hangers,on the head restraints.▷Only attach accessories approved by BMWto the seat or head restraint.Otherwise, the protective function of the activehead restraint will be impaired and the personalsafety of the occupants will be endangered.◀Adjusting the height▷To raise: pull.▷To lower: press the button, arrow 1, andpush the head restraint down.RemovingThe head restraints cannot be removed.Rear head restraintsCorrectly adjusted head restraintA correctly adjusted head restraint reduces therisk of injury to cervical vertebrae in the event ofan accident.Adjusting the head restraintCorrectly adjust the head restraints of alloccupied seats; otherwise, there is an increasedrisk of injury in an accident.◀HeightAdjust the head restraint so that its center is ap‐proximately at ear level.Adjusting the height▷To raise: pull.▷To lower: press the button, arrow 1, andpush the head restraint down.The center head restraint cannot be adjusted inelevation.RemovingOnly remove the head restraint if no one will besitting in the seat in question.1.
