When Rainsense is active, the headlamps will turn onautomatically if the exterior lamp control is in the AUTOposition and the wipers are active.Notice:Going through an automatic car wash withthe wipers on can damage them. Turn the wipersoff when going through an automatic car wash.Windshield Washer{ CAUTION:In freezing weather, do not use your washer untilthe windshield is warmed. Otherwise the washerfluid can form ice on the windshield, blocking yourvision.L (Washer Fluid):Push the paddle marked with thewindshield washer symbol at the top of the multifunctionlever, to spray washer fluid on the windshield. Thewipers clear the window and then either stop or returnto the preset speed.Heated Windshield WasherFor vehicles with the heated windshield washer fluidsystem it can be used to help clear ice, snow, tree sap,or bugs from the windshield._ (Heated Washer Fluid): Press the heated washerfluid button to activate the heated windshield washerfluid system. This activation initiates four heatedwash/wipe cycles. The first heated wash/wipe cycle maytake up to 40 seconds to occur, depending on outsidetemperature. After the first wash/wipe cycle, it may takeup to 20 seconds for each of the remaining cycles tobegin. Press the button again to turn off the heatedwindshield washer fluid system or it will automaticallyturn off after four wipe cycles have been completed.When the heated windshield washer fluid systemis activated under certain outside temperatureconditions, steam may flow out of the washer nozzlesfor a short period of time before washer fluid is sprayed.This is a normal condition.HEATING WASH FLUID WASH WIPES PENDING isdisplayed on the DIC when the washer system is heatingthe fluid. WASHER FLUID LOW ADD FLUID isdisplayed when the washer fluid is low. See DICWarnings and Messages on page 3-64 .3-10
