The interior temperature sensors located in the headlinerabove the driver side seat and if equipped, in theheadliner above the second row seats measure thetemperature of the air inside the vehicle. There is also an exterior temperature sensor locatedbehind the front grille. This sensor reads the outside airtemperature and helps maintain the temperatureinside the vehicle. Any cover on the front of the vehiclecould cause a false reading in the displayedtemperature. The climate control system uses the information fromthese sensors to maintain your comfort setting byadjusting the outlet temperature, fan speed, and the airdelivery mode. The system may also supply coolerair to the side of the vehicle facing the sun. Therecirculation mode will also be used as needed tomaintain cool outlet temperatures.Outlet AdjustmentUse the air outlets located in the center and on the sideof the instrument panel to direct the airflow.Operation TipsKeep the hood and front air inlets free of ice, snow,or any other obstruction (such as leaves). Theheater and defroster will work far better, reducingthe chance of fogging the inside of the windows. When you enter a vehicle in cold weather, pressthe fan up button to the maximum fan levelbefore driving. This helps clear the intake ducts ofsnow and moisture, and reduces the chance offogging the inside of the window. Keep the air path under the front seats clear ofobjects. This helps air to circulate throughoutthe vehicle. Adding outside equipment to the front of thevehicle, such as hood-air deflectors, may affect theperformance of the heating and air conditioningsystem. Check with your dealer/retailer beforeadding equipment to the outside of the vehicle.3-30
