Engine Air Cleaner/FilterSeeEngine Compartment Overview on page 5-14 forthe location of the engine air cleaner/filter.Inspect the air cleaner/filter at the Maintenance IIintervals and replace it at the first oil change after each50,000 mile (80 000 km) interval. See ScheduledMaintenance on page 6-4 for more information. If drivingon dusty/dirty conditions, inspect the filter at each engineoil change.How to Inspect the Engine AirCleaner/FilterTo inspect the air cleaner/filter, remove the engine aircleaner/filter from the vehicle by following Steps 1through 6. When the engine air cleaner/filter is removed,lightly shake it to release loose dust and dirt. If the engineair cleaner/filter remains caked with dirt, a new filter isrequired.Replacing the Engine Air Cleaner/Filter1. Locate the air cleaner/filter assembly.
