Removing the Flat Tire andInstalling the Spare Tire1. Do a safety check before proceeding. See Changinga Flat Tire on page 5-86 for more information.2. If your vehicle has a center cap that covers the wheelfasteners, place the chisel end of the wheel wrenchin the slot on the wheel and gently pry the cap out.If the wheel has a bolt-on hub cap, loosenthe plastic nut caps by turning the wheel wrenchcounterclockwise. The plastic nut caps will beretained in the hub cap after it is removed from thewheel.3. Use the wheel wrench to loosen all the wheel nuts.Turn the wheel wrench counterclockwise to loosenthe wheel nuts. Do not remove the wheel nuts yet.5-92
