2-100DIC Warnings and MessagesWarning messages are displayed on the DIC to notifythe driver that the status of the vehicle has changed andthat some action may be needed by the driver to correctthe condition. More than one message may appear at one time, they will appear one behind the other. Somemessages may not require immediate action but youshould press the select button to acknowledge that youreceived the message and clear it from the display. Somemessages cannot be cleared from the display becausethey are more urgent. These message required actionbefore they can be removed from the DIC display. Thefollowing are the possible messages that can bedisplayed and some information about them.ENGINE COOLANT HOT/IDLE ENGINEIf the cooling system temperature gets hot this messagewill appear in the DIC and you will hear a chime. Stopthe vehicle and let the engine idle in PARK (P) to allowthe coolant to reach a safe temperature. This messagewill clear when the coolant temperature drops to a safeoperating temperature.ENGINE OVERHEATED/STOP ENGINE (If Equipped)If the engine cooling system reaches unsafetemperatures for operation, this message will appear inthe DIC and you will hear a chime. Stop and turn off thevehicle as soon as it is safe to do so to avoid severedamage. This message will clear when the engine hascooled to a safe operating temperature.OIL PRESSURE LOW/STOP ENGINEIf low oil pressure levels occur this message will bedisplayed on the DIC. Stop the vehicle as soon as safelypossible and do not operate it until the cause of the lowoil pressure has been corrected. Check your oil as soonas possible and have your vehicle serviced.BATTERY NOT CHARGINGIf the battery is not charging during operation thismessage will appear on the DIC. Driving with thisproblem could drain your battery. Have the electricalsystem checked as soon as possible. Pressing the selectbutton will acknowledge this message and clear it fromthe DIC display.
