104Technical dataCamera typeCompact 35mm range- and viewfinder systemcamera with mechanically controlled shutter.Lens connection Leica M bayonet.Lens systemLeica M lenses from 21-135mmExposure metering Exposure metering through the lens(TTL), selectively with working aperture.Metering principle The light reflected by a metering spot inthe center of the 1stshutter curtain is metered. The meteringspot has a diameter of 12mm and therefore corresponds to approx. 13% of the full negative format or around1/2of theshort side of the corresponding frame in the viewfinder.Metering range (at ISO 100/21°) From 0.03cd/m2to125000cd/m2at room temperature, normal humidity andaperture 1.0. At ISO 100/21° this corresponds to EV-2 to 20or f/1 and 4s (B-setting) to f/32 and 1/1000s. Flashing of theleft triangular LED in the viewfinder indicates values below themetering range.Metering cell for available light (continuous light measure-ments) Silicon photo diode with convex lens to the top left be-hind the camera bayonet.Film speed range Manual setting from ISO 6/9° to ISO6400/39°.Exposure mode Manual shutter speed and aperture setting, adjustment via LED light balance.Flash exposure controlFlash unit connection Via accessory shoe with centralcontact and/or standard flash connection socket.Synchronisation On the 1st shutter curtain.Flash synchronising speed 1= 1/50s; slower shutter speedspossible.Flash exposure control Via computer control of flash unit orvia guide number calculation and manual setting for the required aperture.ViewfinderViewfinder principle Large, light bright-line range- and view-finder with automatic parallax compensation.EyepieceAdjusted to –0.5 dpt.. Corrective lenses from –3 to+3 dpt. available.Image field limitation By projection of pairs of bright-line frames: For 28 and 90mm (90mm only on LEICA MP 0.85) orfor 35 and 135mm (35mm only on LEICA MP 0.58), or for 50and 75mm. Automatic projection when lens is attached. Thedesired frame can be projected using the frame selector.Parallax compensation The horizontal and vertical differ-ence between the viewfinder and the lens is automaticallycompensated according to the relevant distance setting, i.e.the bright-line frame automatically aligns with the subject detail recorded by the lens.Matching of viewfinder and film image The size of thebright-line frame corresponds to an image size of 23 x 35mmat the shortest setting distance for each focal length. With theinfinity setting, depending on the focal length, approx. 9%(28mm) to 23% (135mm) more of the image is recorded thanthe corresponding bright-line frame shows.
