- 35 -CONCEPTPRACTICEThe Controls MenuIn M-REC mode, the controls menu offers control over thefollowing settings:* SAVE (Flash Mode Save): When this item is checked, thecamera saves the flash setting. This flash setting is restoredwhen the mode dial is turned to M-REC. When this item isnot checked, the flash is set to "Auto" when the camera isturned on.* SAVE (Focus Mode Save): As above, but the camerasaves the focus mode setting. When this item is not checked,focus is set to "Autofocus" when the camera is turned on.* SAVE (Exposure Compensation Save): When this item ischecked, the camera saves the exposure compensationsetting. This setting is restored when the mode dial is turnedto M-REC. When this item is not checked, exposurecompensation is set to "0" when the camera is turned on.*MENU DIR.: Reverses the roles of the zoom buttons for thepurposes of scrolling through the menus. When this item ischecked, the zoom out () button is used to move thehighlight bar up and the zoom in ( ) button to move it down.*DIST. FT: When this item is checked, the focus distance formanual focus is displayed in feet. Then high-light BK and press the shutter-releasebutton to return to the M-REC menu, orpress the MENU button to restore theview through the lens.
