LAMP and TEMP IndicatorsMaintenance46 - ENGLISHLAMP and TEMP IndicatorsManaging the indicated problemsIf a problem should occur with the projector, the LAMP and/or TEMP indicators will inform you. Manage the indicated problems as follows.NoteWhen managing a problem, be sure to turn off the power as described in “Switching off the projector”. z(AEpage 22)RemarksConirm the power supply status by the zPOWER indicator. (AEpage 20)POWERFOCUSZOOMRELEASEINPUT SELECT FUNCTIONMENU ENTERR ETURNSTANDBY(RED)/ON(GREEN)LOCK LAMP TEMPLAMP indicatorTEMP indicator JLAMP indicatorIndicatorIlluminating red zFlashing red zProblemLAMP RUNTIME has reached 2 800 hours.LAMP circuit failure, abnormal function or the lamp unit is damaged.CauseLamp unit will run out soon and needs to be replaced.The projector is switched on again too soon.LAMP circuit failure, abnormal function.Lamp unit is damaged.RemedySee “Replacing the Lamp unit”. (AEpage 48)Let the lamp unit cool down and turn on the projector after 90 seconds.Switch off the projector (AEpage 2) and contact an Authorized Service Center.See “Replacing the Lamp unit”.(AEpage 48)RemarksIf the zLAMP indicator still lights or lashes after the above remedy, contact an Authorized Service Center. JTEMP indicatorIndicatorIlluminating red while projecting and the alert will be displayed. zFlashing red and power is turned off. zProblemThe temperature inside and/or outside the projector is abnormally high.The projection may becomes darker than usual. zThe internal fan operational noise may be louder than usual. zCauseThe air outlet port and air intake ports are covered.The room tempera-ture is too high.The ilter is exces-sively dirty and the ventilation is poor.The projector is located at 1 400 - 2 700 m (4 593 - 8 858 ft).RemedyRemove the object(s) from the air outlet port and air intake ports or clear around the projector.Reinstall the projector in temperature controlled place. (AEpage 56)Clean the ilter in the proper method. (AEpage 47)Turn on the projector*1 and set the HIGH ALTITUDE MODE to ON. (AEpage 39)The projector will perform 2 minutes with *1: OFF setting at high elevation.RemarksTake the above remedy, disconnect the power plug, and then supply the power again. If the zTEMP indicator still lights or lashes after the above remedy, contact an Authorized Service Center.If the environment temperature in the projector rises, the fan speed increases and the sound becomes louder. z
