Safety informationCAUTION■SRS airbag precautions●The SRS front passenger airbag also depl oys with considerable force, and cancause death or serious injury especially if the front passenger is very close to theairbag. The front passenger seat should be as far from the airbag as possible withthe seatback adjusted, so the front passenger sits upright.●Improperly seated and/or restrained infants and children can be killed or seri-ously injured by a deploying airbag. An infant or child who is too small to use aseat belt should be properly secured us ing a child restraint system. Lexus stronglyrecommends that all infants and children be placed in the rear seats of the vehicleand properly restrained. The rear seats are the safest for infants and children.(→P. 115)●If the seat belt extender has been con-nected to the front seat belt buckles but theseat belt extender has not also been fas-tened to the latch plate of the seat belt, theSRS front airbags will judge that the driverand front passenger are wearing the seatbelt even though the seat belt has not beenconnected. In this case, the SRS front air-bags may not activate correctly in a colli-sion, resulting in death or serious injury inthe event of a collision. Be sure to wear theseat belt with the seat belt extender.
