AIR CONDITIONING258If manual switching of air intake is de-sired -Each time you push the air intake controlbutton, the mode changes in order fromthe RECIRCULATED AIR mode to AUTO-MATIC mode to OUTSIDE AIR mode, thenback to the RECIRCULATED AIR mode.Each indicator light shows which mode isnow selected. 1RECIRCULATED AIR mode - Ifquick circulation of cooled air is de-sired, select this mode. 2EXHAUST GAS AUTOMATIC mode(on some models) - If the outsideair contains harmful substances likeexhaust gas (i.e., when the vehiclerunning just in front of your vehicle ac-celerates rapidly), the systemchanges automatically from theOUTSIDE AIR mode (with indicators 2 and 3 on) to the RECIRCU-LATED AIR mode (with indicators 1 and 2 on). 3OUTSIDE AIR mode - The systemwill take fresh outside air into the ve-hicle.Turning off the air conditioning manuallywill cancel the EXHAUST GAS AUTO-MATIC mode. If you select the "AUTO"mode during fan operating, the air condi-tioning turns on and the EXHAUST GASAUTOMATIC mode will operate.For normal use, it is best to keep the air in-take control button set to OUTSIDE AIRmode. If recirculated air is used duringheating, the windows will fog up more easi-ly.
