AIR CONDITIONING263(e) Outside temperature displayOutside temperature is displayed onthe screen. The displayed temperature ranges from-40C (-40F) up to 50C (122F).If the temperature shows "- -" or "E", takeyour vehicle to your Lexus dealer.(f) Operating tips To help cool down the interior afterparking in the hot sun, drive for the firstfew minutes with the windows open. After the excess heat has blown away, close the windows. Make sure the air inlet grilles in front ofthe windshield are not blocked byleaves or other obstructions. If air flow control is not satisfactory, check the dashboard vents and rearvents. (See "(g) Adjusting the positionof and opening and closing the air out-lets" on page 266.) On humid days, do not blow cold air onthe windshield. The windshield couldfog up because of the difference in airtemperature on the inside and outsideof the windshield. Keep the area under the front seatsclear to allow air to circulate through-out the vehicle. On cold days, set the fan speed to highfor a minute to help clear the intakeducts of snow or moisture. This can re-duce the amount of fogging on the win-dows. When driving on dusty roads, close allwindows. If dust thrown up by the ve-hicle is still drawn into the vehicle afterclosing the windows, it is recom-mended that the air intake control but-ton be set to the OUTSIDE AIR modeto take in the fresh air and set the fanspeed selector to any setting exceptOFF. If following another vehicle on a dustyroad, or driving in windy and dustyconditions, it is recommended that theair intake control button be temporarilypressed in to the RECIRCULATED AIRmode, which will close off the outsidepassage and prevent outside air anddust from entering the vehicle interior.
