Perhaps severalattempts will be required at different dis-tances. Maintain each position for approx.15 seconds before trying a new one.3. Depress the button for the original remotecontrol and the button to be programmedon HomeLinkµ simultaneously. Do notrelease the buttons until the indicator lamphas changed over from slow to rapid flash-ing. The rapid flashing indicates successfulprogramming.4. Test the programming by depressing theprogrammed button on HomeLinkµ andwatching the indicator lamp:•Constant glow: The indicator lamp illu-minates with a constant glow when thebutton is kept depressed, this indicatesthat the programming is complete. Thegarage door, gate or similar should nowbe activated when the programmedHomeLinkµ button is depressed.•Glow not constant: The indicator lampflashes quickly for approx. 2 secondsand then changes over to a constantglow for approx. 3 seconds. This proc-ess is repeated for approx. 20 secondsand indicates that the device has a "roll-ing code". The garage door, gate or sim-ilar is not activated when the pro-grammed HomeLinkµ button isdepressed. Continue the programmingin accordance with the following.5.Locate the "programming button1" on thereceiver for the garage door for example,normally located close to the antenna'sbracket on the receiver. If you have diffi-culty in finding the button - consult thesupplier's manual, or contact the suppliervia the Internet: www.homelink.com.6. Depress and release the "programmingbutton". The button flashes forapprox. 30 seconds and the next step mustbe carried out within this period.7. Depress the programmed button onHomeLinkµ, while the "programming but-ton" is still flashing, keep it depressed forapprox. 3 seconds and then release.Repeat the press/hold/release sequenceup to 3 times to conclude the program-ming.Programming individual buttonsTo reprogram an individual button, proceed inaccordance with the following:1. Depress the required button onHomeLinkµ and do not release until step 3has been completed.2.When the indicator lamp on HomeLinkµstarts to flash, after approx. 20 seconds,position the original remote control5-30 cm from HomeLinkµ. Monitor the indi-cator lamp.The particular distance that is requiredbetween the original remote control andHomeLink depends on the programming ofthe device in question. The indicator lamp will start toflash. When the flashing has changed overfrom a slow to a rapid flashing - releaseboth buttons. The rapid flashing indicatessuccessful programming.4. Test the programming by depressing theprogrammed button on HomeLink andwatching the indicator lamp:1Button designation and colour vary depending on manufacturer.
