06 Starting and drivingDSTC – Stability and traction control system* 06172* Option/accessory, for more information, see Introduction.Messages on the information displayTRACTION CONTROL TEMPORARILYOFF means that the system has been tempo-rarily reduced due to excessive brake tempera-ture.–The function is reactivated automaticallywhen the brakes have cooled.ANTI-SKID SERVICE REQUIRED systemdisabled due to a fault.–Stop the car in a safe place and turn off theengine.> If the message remains when the engineis restarted, drive to a workshop. Anauthorised Volvo workshop is recom-mended.Symbols in the combined instrumentpanelDSTC systemInformationIf the symbols and are displayed at thesame time:•Read the message on the information dis-play.If the symbol appears alone then it mayappear as follows:•Flashing light means that the DSTC systemis now being activated.•Constant glow for 2 seconds means sys-tem check when the engine is started.•Constant glow after starting the engine orwhile driving means that there is a fault inthe DSTC system.
