used for cooking.LOCK FUNCTION(models ...604)Using the sensor lock (5) you can lockthe entire unit, except the on/off sensorkey (1), in order to protect the unit fromunwanted use. This is a useful safety func -tion when there are children in the home.When the lock is activated, the light (10)goes on.If you turn off the device using the on/offsensor key (1) at the same time that thelock is activated, the device will continue tobe locked the next time it is turned on.Function for keeping a pan hot(models チc622)Using this function, it is possible to keepfood hot in a pan placed on the cookingarea.1There is a pan on one of the heating ele -ments at a previously selected cookingtemperature.2It is necessary to touch sensor (12),after which the symbol will appear inthe indicator. To disconnect this function, just touch sen -sor (12) again and the heating elementwill turn off, or, as an alternative, it is pos -sible to touch sensor (2) and change tolevel 1. This function will only work for amaximum of 120 minutes, after which thehob will disconnect.Timer functionThis feature enables you to do your coo -king while you are not present: You can setthe timer for a hotplate and it will switchitself off automatically when this time haselapsed.Around the selected time display there are4 or 3 pilot lights that indicate which hotpla -te is being timed. For example, if you timethe upper left hotplate as you look at theappliance, the pilot light that will come willbe the one above the display and to the left.Where no hotplate is being timed (no pilotlight (9) is on), the clock can be used as acountdown timer (see the section "Theclock as a countdown timer").You can use the clock as a countdowntimer for periods of between 1 and 99minutes, and as a hotplate timer for timesof between 1 and 99 minutes. All the coo -king areas can be programmed indepen -dently and simultaneously.Timing a hotplate1The hotplate to be timed has to be selec -ted. The corresponding decimal point(11) must be lit.2Select a power level of between 1and 9using the or sensors (2/4).3Touch the clock sensor (7). The deci -mal point (11) of the time display (8)(which shows 00) will come on, and itwill flash on and off along together withthe pilot light (9) of the correspondinghotplate.4Touch the clock sensor (7) again toincrease the value of the time you wishto set, or (4) to decrease it (from 1 to99 minutes). You can keep your fingeron the or sensors (7/4) to makethe minutes pass by automatically andmake your selection more quickly.The clock will begin to control the timeautomatically.
